As of Aug 26 2022, the official driver on edimax.com website support Ubuntu kernel up to v5.4 only. Any version higher than that is not supported.

Please verify the kernel version of your Linux by using "uname -r" command" under terminal window.

The good news is that there is staging driver of rtl8188eu in newer Linux kernels. You don't need to install any driver, i.e. Plug-and-Play in kernel like v5.15.

Below two images are from Ubuntu 22.04 kernel 5.15. The staging driver name is "r8188eu".

Modified: The staging driver has renamed to "rtl8xxxu" in newer kernel.

Thanks to all the maintainers of the rtl8xxxu kernel module! The EW-7811Un v2 is still plug and play.
